Session 1
*Discussion - Participants will discuss what they THINK is internet safety and what should be done about it.
*What's Wrong with this Picture - Participants will view various cartoons and discuss what is wrong and what rule should be made to prevent the problem.

Participants will analyze online predators and inappropriate use of the Internet. Participatns will watch a video and discuss what they observed from the Internet Safety Video.
Session 2
*Pinky Swear Video - Click Here for Video
Participants will watch the Pinky Swear Video to become inspired by the session's topic - What are the county's policies and standards with Internet Use?
*Acceptable Use Policy Analysis - Participants will review Prince George's County's Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and other schools AUPs that are already made. Participants will discuss the differences in the AUPs, and the pros and cons of the AUPs.

*Creating AUPs - Participants will create or improve their school personal AUP and contract that their students and parents will follow.

Participants will view the two videos above and discuss how these videos will help students understand Internet Safety.

Participants will browse through and play children's friendly Internet Safety games and discuss which games are useful.
*Discussion - Participants will discuss effective and ineffective games and videos to use when teaching Internet safety.
Session 5
*Google Docs and Smart Notebook Internet Safety Lessons - Participants will view and analyze different examples of Internet Safety lessons through the use of Google Docs and Smart Notebook.

Participants will practice using different features of each of the multimedia programs through the tutorials to create their own lessons. Using these features can allow participants to learn how to use the different programs in other lessons they want to teach.
Session 6
*Where do They Come From Presentation - Participants will analyze and discuss their students needs and their background knowledge.
*Internet Safety Plan Brainstorming Questions - Particpants will use the brainstorming questions as a guideline to help brainstorm and outline their own original Internet Safety Plan using the one or more of the multimedia discussed in previous sessions. Participants will collaborate with each other during the creation process.

Session 9
*Internet Safety Plan Evaluation - Participants will present their plans to each other. Participants will critique each others presentations using a rubric.

Session 10
* Parental Involvement Disucssion - Participants will discuss why parents play an important role in teaching Internet safety and ways in which schools can help parents take responsibility for their child's computer use.
*Resources - Participants will view other resources they can use in their classroom.

Participants will complete a survey and give feedback on their experience in this professional development workshop and give possible improvements in future Internet Safety professional development.
