- Course Description:
- This course is about learning how to teach students how to use the Internet for educational purposes and keeping themselves and others safe from online predators. There are various types of dangers on the Internet that can harm the systems personal data and are unethical. This course will educate primary teachers on how to teach Internet Safety and netiquette (Internet etiquette) for students in grades K-2.
- Course Objectives:
- Objective 1 - Teachers will be able to identify and define what is Internet Safety and the county's Acceptable Use Policy (AUP).
- Objective 2 - Teachers will be able to help prevent Internet dangers and create a safe teaching enviornment both in the classroom and online.
- Objective 3 - Teachers will be able to create their own Internet Safety Plan using various types of multimedia software to enhance student learning.
- Objective 4 - Teachers will be able to give parents advice and resources about teaching their children about Internet safety at home.
